**Amy is currently on maternity leave and not accepting new clients**
Amy (she/her) is a clinical registrant of PACFA living and working on Wurundjeri land (Naarm/Melbourne, VIC). She has completed a Bachelors in Counselling and is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Eating Disorders. She offers counselling and therapy for a variety of clientele, with a special interest in Borderline Personality Disorder and Eating Disorders. Amy is a proud ally of the LGBTQIA+ community and created the first support group in Australia for members of the LGBTQIA+ community with eating disorders, run through Eating Disorders Victoria. She has been a guest on JOY FM queer radio station and contributed to the growing discussions of how we can better support the LGBTQIA+ community with eating disorders.
She has a dynamic and integrative approach to her clients, utilising aspects of art therapy, mindfulness, person centred counselling and other therapies, tailoring her counselling to each individual client. She draws on her clients strengths and works with them to build a positive life, explore issues and provide care and support. Providing a space of safety and affirmation are always at the forefront of how Amy works and she welcomes your personal input on how she can create the right space for you.
In addition to counselling, Amy is also a certified Yoga teacher and is available for both group and individual classes. Amy brings a mental health and wellbeing focus to her yoga classes, helping you to connect with your body and your mind. Amy currently offers yoga classes for individuals recovering from an Eating Disorder.
All counselling appointments are conducted either from her rooms in Surrey Hills or via Telehealth.
Throughout her work in mental health, Amy has begun to focus more on working with people with ED's and BPD, as well as training mental health staff in how to effectively work with BPD clients to help reduce stigma and shame. Contact Amy directly to arrange a BPD workshop at your workplace.
Amy's previous work includes working for both public and private mental health services (inpatient and outpatient) and youth residential care.
